La Esquinica is one of the most well known tapas bar of Barcelona.

Also known as "the Meca of tapas", La Esquinica offers a wide range of more than 50 assorted tapas where the patatas bravas are definitely the star of the menu.

Great tapas and nice people since 1972

Nowadays, La Esquinica is one of the most symbolic tapas bar of Barcelona but the beginings were humble. In the August of 1972 a team of 6 people started in a small restaurant in El Turó de la Peira district with "tapicas", as we say in aragonés. The restaurant was located in the corner of carrer Montsant with carrer Cadí. From there came the name of "La Esquinica".

In a short space of time La Esquinica became a well known restaurant within the city, not only for having some of the best patatas bravas of Barcelona but also many more "tapicas". Quickly, the queues to get in became famous. In 1997 it was relocated to a bigger restaurant with aragonese decor. The restaurant is situated in Passeig Fabra i Puig and boasts an exceptional terrace to offer a better service to its customers.

Almost 45 years after, any tapas lover of Barcelona knows of La Esquinica for its prestige and the route they have taken to get where they are today.
